A romantic comedy by Ivan Offelich

On New Years Eve a man makes a resolution to find
himself a girlfriend before next New Years Eve but it
proves more difficult than he imaged.
Mark stares at the couples during a New Years Eve party kissing on the stroke of midnight. He makes a
resolution then and there to find himself a girlfriend before the year is out. After some reasonable initial
attempts he soon discovers he cannot seem to get a date to save his life and his moronic surfer brother
seems to be a “babe magnet.”
After taking some of his brother’s advise he only finds things have
gotten worse. Despair and concern for his inability to win a girl leads him
on a quest for knowledge of how to “win the girl of his dreams.” He soon
finds dating is much like extreme sports, except they get to wear helmet.

Soon Mark is on an all-consuming quest to just have a successful first
date. He uses all resources to his disposal, exploiting friends, relatives
and especially internet dating sites to find plausible candidates. Soon he
can barely find the time to go to work what with the amount of time
required to just obtain a date. After a serious of disastrous first dates,
Mark discovers his time is running out as the Holidays are approaching.

After some more desperate last ditch attempts to gain almost any girl,
Mark starts realizing that lowering his expectations only leads to
prolonged heart-ache. He eventually sees that allowing his self-esteem to
be dependant on a girlfriends interest, is the very thing that makes him
unattractive and a relationship unhealthy. Once he realizes he can find
self-worth and satisfaction without her, the opportunity presents it’s self
for him to date the girl of his dreams.
